2015 Fall events

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory presents the Fall Flower Show, October 10 through November 29, 2015 at 1225 Estabrook Drive, Saint Paul, MN.
Their Sunken Garden at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory will be in full bloom and will be featuring a variety of Chrysanthemums. The first half of the show will feature our traditional looking show, with mums of red, maroon, gold, orange. The second half of the Fall Flower Show will have mainly purple/lavender Chrysanthemums with hints of white and magenta, in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. (Closed NOVEMBER 2 – 6)
In Crystal Springs, Mississippi at the Truck Crops Experiment Station the 2015 Fall Flower & Garden Fest will take place on October 16 & 17 from 9 a. m. until 2 p. m. The Phippi Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at One Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, PA., will present the Fall Flower Show from October 17, 2015 - November 08, 2015, starting at 9 a. m. each day.  This year they bring a new perspective to the season's famed chrysanthemums through the lens of Japanese horticulture. The show begins in the Palm Court, which represents China, the chrysanthemum’s country of origin, with vibrant plants in shades of red and orange, massive origami cranes, metal ornate lanterns and flickering candles. The exhibit, designed by Phipps Plant Recorder and Display Horticulturist Laura Schoch. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and students, and $11 for children (ages 2 – 18). Chicago Botanic Garden will host The Illinois Orchid Society when they present the Illinois Orchid Society Fall Show & Sale on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 – 11, 2015 from 10 a. m. – 4 p. m. Special photographers' hour on Sunday at 9 a. m. Tabletop displays, from the rarest of species to cultivated hybrids, will be artistically arranged. The Society will provide an orchid sales area and repotting services. Visit the Chicago Botanic Garden for details on this and other shows in September and October.  

The Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch, 17904 Grant Street in Lowell, Indiana will hold the Harvest Tyme Corn Maze from September 26, 2015 - October 31, 2015, every Sat. and Sunday to recognize Lowell's own Hometown Hero, Officer Nicholas Schultz. They are dedicating this year's corn maze design to his family and the families of all those lost in the line of duty. 20% of the 2015 corn maze ticket sales will be donated to the Live-Love-Give, Nicholas Schultz Memorial Scholarship Fund.
